Q. When did calling someone a pimp become a compliment ? How did a person who oppressed women for financial gain become a role model for suburban white kids? I'm interested in your answers. To respond click on comments.

Pimp is definitely not a compliment and it's really sad that education is lacking in America.

Because subjugating people is cool yo! You can't be cool unless you are seriously demeaning someone else, dog. Slave owners: cool. Nazi's: wicked cool. Slodoban Milosovic is a seroius playah'. Being a pimp is just the next step in the natural of evolution of cool for the common man, homie.

Word!

My 5th grade students were calling each other pimps last year. i stopped in the middle of a lesson and asked them if they knew what that word meant. none of them did. Once I defined it, I asked them to come up with 5 reasons that would be a compliment. they could not, so I told them not to use it. they didn't anymore, and I heard them correct other kids. I hope it stuck, at least somewhere in the pre-ten brains.
